Teddy Bear Sunday, 2008
Bring a ‘Teddy Bear’ for the Christ Child was held on January 6 to Help the Memphis Child Advocacy Center
On Sunday, January 6, to help celebrate Epiphany and the arrival of the Three Kings, the children of the parish brought ‘teddy bears’ for the Baby Jesus. The bears were then donated to the Memphis Child Advocacy Center (MCAC). The focus of this local non-profit is the care of children and their families during a period where an allegation of child abuse has been made. At the Center, each child is able to adopt a teddy bear and this adoption is considered a crucial element in the healing process.
During the Sunday School time on January 6, the children of Grace St-Luke’s made bows and cards for all teddy bears collected and presented them for a blessing during the 10:30 service.
