Anne
Waring
Director of Christian Education
Anne joins the Grace St. Lukes staff as Christian Education
Director after chairing the Childrens Christian Education
committee for three years and being a member here for more
than six years.
A native New Orleanian, she is a graduate of
Lousiana State University. Professionally her accomplishments
as a commercial landscape architect are many - ranging from
the Olympic venues in Atlanta and greenway projects across
the South to the Mike Rose Soccer Complex and most recently
the renovation of the Memphis International Airport. But with
the birth of her son nine years ago, she discovered that her
passion had shifted. Anne found herself continually drawn
to the study of the development of the mind. While she continued
to consult on major projects around the country, her heart
continued to search for something that would bring a deeper
satisfaction. She has found exactly that in her new role at
GSL.
She believes it is very important in the life
of a church for people of all ages to be engaged in learning
opportunities. And she believes it is vital that those opportunities
be varied and tailored to specific audiences. She is thrilled
to be working closely with Jonathan Cole and the entire Adult
Christian Education committee on what promises to be a rewarding
and intellectually stimulating fall for all of us at GSL.
Anne is a member of the GSL School Board, and her husband
Roane III is a senior attorney for the City of Memphis. Her
child - Roane IV - is a budding cartoon artist and a 3rd grader
at Grace St. Lukes Episcopal School.
